Ayat al-Kursi, often called the Throne Verse, is verse 255 of Surah al-Baqarah (Qur'an 2:255). It begins Allahu la ilaha illa huwal-Hayyul-Qayyum, “Allah: there is no god but Him, the Ever-Living, who sustains all that exists.”

Transliteration

Meaning

Allah: there is no god but Him, the Ever-Living, who sustains all that exists. Neither drowsiness nor sleep overtakes Him. Everything in the heavens and on the earth is His. Who can intercede with Him except by His leave? He knows what is before them and what is behind them, and they grasp nothing of His knowledge except what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and guarding them does not tire Him. He is the Most High, the Tremendous.

Where this dua comes from

Verse 255 of Surah al-Baqarah. In Sahih al-Bukhari 5010, Abu Hurayrah was told that reciting it on going to bed keeps a guardian from Allah with you until morning, and the Prophet ﷺ said the one who told him had spoken the truth, though he was a liar.
